2026 Distribution Payment

22 January 2026

Marlborough Electric Power Trust (MEPT) will be making a distribution payment of $50 to eligible power consumers who will see the payment credited to their next power account by retailers, from the 22nd of January.

MEPT Chair, Domenic Romano acknowledged, “Our Trust recognises that this year’s distribution of $50 is at a lower level reflecting the challenging 2025 year‑result, following reduced returns from the investment portfolio, primarily because of Yealands Wines Group’s ongoing headwinds in the wine industry.  In setting the 2026 payment, MEPT has carefully balanced the desire to support household budgets meet the needs of their electricity costs, whilst considering the Trust’s asset base so that Marlborough consumers continue to benefit from this community ownership over the long term.”

Holder of 100% of the shares in Marlborough Lines Ltd on behalf of the owners (beneficiaries), MEPT aims to provide a distribution, while considering group investment income and the company’s overall financial position.

The $50 distribution per eligible consumer is in addition to the average discount of $255 paid by Marlborough Lines Ltd to consumer accounts in May 2025.
